Worship in Spirit and Truth!

Why we chose “Spirit and Truth”

Although I was leading worship, with a guitar for small home groups, I only began to really feel “the Spirit moving” when I played bass guitar in a complete worship band. There was something about the rhythm and the passion of the keyboard player and leader that touched me deeply. What a blessing it is to be on the musician side of live worship!

But, there were deeper spiritual encounters yet to come. Several important milestones in the progression to “spirit filled” worship came when we moved to Nashville to help a new church expand their home-group program. As you can imagine, that Nashville church was filled with musicians!  Practically every home group had it’s own complete worship band!  Then, some worship leaders from England came to the church, Matt Redman included, and the level of passion increased even more. Our time in Nashville was like a flood or waterfall of anointed worship.

The next stop in the progression of Spirit-filled worship came when we took 20 college students to the “One Day” event in Memphis, TN, (a Passion Music event), on a weekend in 2000. With thousands of worshipers in an outdoor venue starting to praise God, it sinks right down to the core of your Spirit! Then, to increase the sense of Spirit, a group of students carried a large wooden cross from the back of the crowd, down the aisle to the worship stage! When they bowed down at the cross, the worship music ramped up and our hearts went with it!  Another progression came later when we invested one whole year in Redding, CA, basking in the worship at Bethel Church!  If you want to experience the full “Spirit filled” worship music, go somewhere that God is moving so you can feel the difference! Or, tune in to the online station, iworship423!

Worship music that brings you into the presence of God touches the Spirit that Jesus put in you at salvation. As Jesus explained in John 15:26, “when the Helper comes whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.” He put the Holy Spirit, the “Helper” into your spirit as verified in Colossians 1:27 (“Christ in you, the hope of glory”). Live worship music has the power to touch that Spirit and even give you peace, joy, hope, or even revelation.

Go for it, friend!  Seek first the Kingdom of God and all else will be provided!  We pray that you will find some of the Spirit-moving music at iworship423, the online radio station!
